Neither, it should be a member of the public.

Could go with that Gromit, so long as the person was a memberof some sporting club.

surprised its not Coca Cola or Visa.
If it does have to be between Daley or Redgrave is it too short notice to have a 'Strictly Come Dancing' Dance-off for the honour of lighting the flame?
Didn't Daley have a fling with Princess Anne?

He should win for his exceptional bravery.
dont care!!!
Both great choices but I'd go with Sir Steve, he is our greatest olympian.
It should be a Brit who epitomises the olympic spirit and whose greatest honour was to represent their nation - how about Zola Budd?
Who is our 'greatest Olympian'?

Isn't there an argument to suggest it's Sir Chris Hoy?
David Beckham, he was supposed to be in the fore for the Olympics. I think they should give him the accolade.

No - someone might trip her up
Daley Thompson

Riding a bike and rowing a boat isn't a sport

It's a good trick though if you can do it.

Redgrave, purely on his results.
Bazile - she was too nimble on her feet to be tripped up.

no there isn't sandy!
I think Thompson once refused to carry the Union Flag.
will someone please report my answer at 14:51 and have it removed?
I've reported it sandy. Hopefully it will be gone before Thompson's lawyers see it.

You've said it now , no turning back I'm afraid.

This is Daley Thompson's view on drugs in sport, and I must say I totally agree with him.
