You are joking, right?
Easily the best ever
Its fantastic. Its modern, lively, funny and British.
It is just a complete mess.
princerupe74 - have you ever watched the generally mind-numbing blandness of previous opening ceremonies?
Glad I didn't watch it then.
I thought Antwerp's was worse...
It's usually just a parade of countries' athletes dressed in their best clothes? Maybe a few crackers going off and a bit of dancing? They will repeat it so I will probably get to watch it.
I think you last watched in the 70's starbuckone!
Well it is rather bland and oh so very P.C.
I bet it will get better though.
It's awful, but I truly hope it gets better.
Probably even before that maidup. I am pretty ancient, as you know. Must try and watch some of it this time round though as my daughter has accused me of being "socially lazy" or in other words anti-social. I'm not, am I? If anyone says YES watch out - I know who you are!! (But fortunately for you not where you live.
I think some are missing the point, it's great.
Its a spectacular show Starbuckone. Its been on for 1 1/2 hours and the athletes are only just arriving now. Switch it on in about an hour to see how and who lights the cauldron. Dare you!
I bet HM is bored out of her brains.
Teletubbies meets top of the pops, how did they think of that?
I couldn't watch it any more, bored the life out of me, very disappointing!!

the Eurovision Song Contest is better than this. What an almighty waste of money and opportunity. Wish we could do without the cr*p commentators too. They've already implied that Becks is lighting the cauldron
Oh,well, I enjoyed it. First time there's been any humour in any opening ceremony and it was fast paced and lively after the initial, fairly incomprehensible, history sequence.
its true to the host nation, bloody brilliant. Arise Sir Danny Boyle!!!!
