knockers

I'm not desperately interested in the Olympics (I shall probably watch a few of the 'blue riband' athletics events and some cycling) but I am getting very, very bored by the unceasing tide of knocking negativity that there seems to be on here this week.
If anything it's having the effect of turning me into a positive supporter of the Games rather than a 'ho-hum' neutral.
Just worth perhaps drawing a comparison between the huge personal effort that all the participants have put into qualifying and taking part, rather than the sedentary ease with which one can create anonymous knocking copy ...

The slating of the opening ceremony and the comments about how the 100 metres is completely lacking in merit have left me baffled.
I accept that the opening ceremony might not to have been to everyone's taste but I struggle to believe that people can write off the whole event.
I certainly don't want to read about Britain's 'shame' at not getting a medal in the cycling today..............

Totally agree with your Dave and for the record I loved every minute of the opening ceremony [okay maybe not Macca but.....]. I live 20 minutes away from the Olympic stadium and have watched a desolate ugly town be transformed, I was there last week [well Westfield shopping] and felt a swell of pride seeing the finished product....even that strange broken helter-skelter doesn't look that bad.
Go TEAM GB.... But haters are gonna hate!

Saddens me S_D that these knockers are British. They don`t need to like sport but why on earth can`t they show a little support and thought for the competitors. Or be quiet.
I`m not British but I was thrilled for the British athletes last night. The joy of being there after years of preparation was on every face.
My years in Canada showed me how people can get behind their fellow countrymen.
p.s. My brother has just taken part in The International Wife Carrying Championships. No knockers there.
