Gay icons are nothing new in Childrens TV..Tinky Winky with his handbag,Andy Pandy with his limp wrists and even Bungle off Rainbow was as camp as a box of frogs.

Actually I have my doubts on Tinkywinkygate. His/her gender was never explicitly confirmed, was it? Which makes the whole handbag issue moot.

The people who think this stuff up really should get out more.

Lassie was a boy dog - does this mean that the character in the film was confused about his/her sexuality? Did he/she walk with a camp wiggle or did he/she bark in a high pitched 'voice'?

The nice thing about kids are that they are very good at accepting people in so called minority groups. They are not judgemental and they most certainly don't care about what Squarebob whatsit gets up to after the cameras stop rolling.


I am off to pick a fight with my two favourite people in the world - my kitties.
