We, amongst others, send huge amounts of cash aid to Pakistan, supposedly for educational needs. We then read of this kind of 'law' - an 11-year-old disabled Christian girl could face the death penalty . . .
It is very difficult not to become abuse when one reads of such a society which has such barbarian beliefs and laws.

And of course, our Dandy Boys in the coalition, just keep pumping more and more money into their laps. Disgraceful.

So sorry, didn't check.
If we wanted to help Pakistan our aid money should go towards those drones the yanks keep sending. This will help to get rid of the militants and make it a stronger country.
Alternatively, we could help the needy at home and stop funding this and Indian battleships.
If the money is for education, it's clearly not working.
There isn't enough money to educate that sort of mentality.
In other countries this is normal for them. Just as some countries ban alcohol and they cannot understand how we can drink it.

Homosexuality is another one. In some countries you will be sent to prison for 30 years for engaging in homosexual activity, in others they chop things off.

I don't see a unified world law for everyone coming anytime this mllennium though. Each country has different rules and beliefs and we have to accept that.
//Each country has different rules and beliefs and we have to accept that. //

Perhaps we do have to accept that - but we don't have to provide money to help them support those rules and beliefs.
no we don't have to provide money, what is worse some have brought these antiquated ideas here, baloney i say.
Baloney, em? I can think of other words. I congratulate you on your diplomacy! ;o))
it's early, don't want to upset the more sensitive souls on here.
Ha ha! :o)
If we could be sure that the money sent really did go towards education it could only be a good thing. The money spent on education gives those children opportunities that they would not otherwise have had.
In time, it might also help to sand down the rougher edges of their society.
rougher edges, diplomatic to the last. We should be spending money here on our own often woeful education system.
^^ Quite right.
if they can afford to spend money on nuclear weapons, then they can afford to feed their people, educate their children, and damn well stop expecting handouts
/// it might also help to sand down the rougher edges of their society ///

We have enough 'rough edges' to sand down in this country, instead of sending our 'sanders' abroad.
But, AOG, when they come to settle amongst us we'd want them to be educated, surely?
The question is, would such behaviour become more, or less, likely if education is discontinued.

The former I believe.
if what i read is true, this child has Downs Syndrome, which makes the issue even more tragic. :(
