Just a thought, is it possible that the murdered British family came upon the shooting of the French victim & not the other way around. After all, the cyclist received more bullet wounds.

Every few years witnesses will come out of the closet claiming to have seen it. The brother will write a book, then there's the film, the channel 4 documentary and a ps3 game will be criticized for featuring scenes similar to the shooting.

Well, according to the French chief investigating officer, the four adults, i.e. mother, father, grandmother and cyclist each were shot twice in the head?

If I were PM, I would have mass hanging sessions of all criminals. No one would dare commit a crime then if you knew you would be hung.

With some of the hints about things in the press, chances are there may not be much news reporting of certain facts due to security issues and further investigation so it may never come out full what happened.

Really? That did not stop people committing crimes when we DID have hanging. It does not stop people commiting crimes in the USA where they still have the death penalty in some states.

Also, if a a criminal knows they are going to be hung if they are caught aren't they likely to fight tooth and nail NOT to get caught, and if that means shooting a few members of the public who happen to be walking past, or maybe killing a couple of policemen who are just going to arrest them, then they wont care.

Yes them too. Murderers, those that don't pay their licence fee, rapists, shoplifters. I would hang them all. No death row nonsense. Found guilty, hung straight away. Oh I have thought it through all right. It helps reduce the surplus population too.

Well, dotty, there is not much room for mistakes now that they have DNA testing, so I reckon you are right , especially in a case like this where the whole family are shot. It seems obvious it was executions of some kind, (perhaps) so the same punishment should be given to the one who perpetrated the deed. However, given the power of the people who stopped the death sentence I doubt if this will ever happen.
VHG Dotty was only referring to murderers, especially mass murderers like this.
