Shouldn't William like his brother Harry also do his bit?

There has been much reporting on those topless photos, both on TV, in the Newspapers and on AnswerBank.

Should Kate's husband (who is after all a serving RAF officer) carry out his duty along side his Brother in Afghanistan instead of swanning off to exotic distant lands on yet another 'honeymoon'?

If he did, then perhaps Kate instead of worrying herself about a few photos of her boobs, could become a true 'Princess of the people' by being 'at one' with all those other serviceman's Wives, Partners, Mums, and 'Mums to be' who face each day for 4/6 months anguishing whether or not their loved one's come home safe and sound and in one piece.

He is a serving officer, AOG, but as next in line to the throne his responsibilities are different to Harry's. He's representing the Queen on his current trip, not just going for his personal pleasure.
I see where your coming from aog, but has any Prince in direct line to the throne served on the front line in modern history.
Oh, for heaven's sake.........
Ditto, Jack.

Sometimes, AOG, you leave me speechless...
It's obviously a slow news day

He is not in direct line to the throne, Prince Charles is.

And why should it matter anyway? there are plenty of other relatives who could take over the British Throne?

Apart from that if it was that important that he should not be put at risk because of his decendancy, then why was he allowed to join the armed forces in the first place?
He is in the RAF specialising in helicopters (Sea-kings) and is discharging his duties as a Search and Rescue pilot.

Not much call for his skills in Afghanistan.
AOG

Prince William is fully operational Search and Rescue pilot flying the Sea King helicopter.

He began his operational service as co-pilot of a Sea King Mk3 helicopter working as part of a four-person crew.

Search and Rescue (SAR) aircrew provide a life-saving rescue service to both military personnel and civilians in the UK, rescuing people from the sea, on mountains, from flooded regions or other areas on land, day and night and in all weathers.

Do you think that what he does, has less value than what Prince Harry is doing i Afghanistan?

Furthermore, he and Kate are representing the royal family on this tour and are NOT on 'honeymoon'.

On honeymoon, you get to do what you want, when you want it. They are representing The Queen, and he is in training for when he eventually becomes king.

Not ALL army personnel are expected to be on front line duties. Operationally, they're simply not required.

Did you also raise objections to the army personnel who provided extra security at the London Olympics?

If we lost William and Harry as next in line after Charles who would want Air miles Andy as King
Unbelievable. So he also should be in the position of being blamed for others' deaths due to his presence there? Like I've already said, they can't do right for doing wrong.
I think he should shave his hair off or have a Rooney done on it.
Mick-Talbot

I agree (apart from the Rooney thing). He should have a number one buzzcut. Male pattern baldness - especially when it happens in your 20s is life's cruellest trick.

Most of them have carried out their tours of duty in Afghanistan or are about to.

Now you mentioned the extra security at the Olympics I didn't notice William amongst those ranks either..

What would the likelihood of losing one of them, not mention both?

Regarding Prince Andrew at least he saw active service during the Falkland's War.
AOG, he is directly in line to the throne, he's second in line - isn't that direct, he's the heir's successor?

Why can't you just leave him alone, he's doing his bit in the RAF and representing the Queen now.
Prince William has not undergone the type of training for 'combat situations'.

Which part of that are you having difficulty with?
But William does a good job in his search and rescue role. A role he doesn't want to give up, but because of who he is and his destiny, he will probably have to. No 'normal' life for him.

I know it's Wings weekend, Battle of Britain services going on, so it's an emotive time - but you can't compare one with another. Princess Anne is Admiral of the Fleet but she's not seen active service, why are you leaving her out of the equation?
Give him time boxy, I'm sure he'll think of something!
