Why is John Major being wheeled out?

Yes Tony, his father and his step mother were well known music hall artists. He was talking about them and his book on the Andrew Marr show this morning. I quite like John Major as a person and find him very interesting. He wasn't I agree a good Prime Minister or Conservative Leader, probably too nice.

He was on the Andrew Marr show this morning talking about his book and he answered a few political questions put to him by AM. He was pleasant and interesting and I think he's enjoying his life as an "elder statesman". He looked like a man at ease with himself.

John Major retired with dignity in defeat, nor did he embark upon a campaign of vitriol against his successor, unlike a certain Mr Heath I could mention.

Old Curry Eggs himself, the man of such moral fibre and fortitude, a man once described to me by a Co chairman that he wouldn't even make the senior management, never mind director level, of the Company.

And certainly my one meeting with him would suggest that comment wasn't far from the truth and that most of the ABers have a superior intellect in comparison.
