A great singer....a legend......these boys lived life to the full, alcohol, smoking, drugs and womanised and yet lived to the ripe old age of 84....as indeed did Frank Sinatra.

In my opinion one of the very best, and although holding up the charts week after week in the 50s and carrying on singing into his 90s when he finely died, it was most sad that his death didn't get much of a coverage from the media.

yes it is odd how some artists remain in the public psyche and others with excellent credentials disappear.

93 when he died though - all that singing in smokey nightclubs seems to have affected him even less than it did AW, Dino and Frank!

Paul Gambacini has just explained on radio that Mancini rated AW and with his encouragement Williams released an album called Moon River to concide with Oscar ceremony as MW was tipped to win Oscar for best song.

When people went into record stores next day and asked for Moon River - they were handed AW.

Neat huh?.
