Abu Qatada
At the beginning of August the Special Immigration Appeals Commission ruled that Abu Qatada should remain in detention until its latest hearing in October; the result of which will be announced in November.
Unbelievably, the SIAC said that Quatada could appeal AGAIN from the SIAC ruling, but any appeal would have to be on points of law.
Apparently the Home Office is still awaiting assurances from Jordan that he will get a a fair trial. Once Jordan confirms that his rights will not be breached, we will removed "as quickly as possible".
Wonder why it's taking so long to get those assurances? Has Theresa May forgotten?

Apart from a few hand wringing liberals (and who cares about them) it woudl probably actually increase the poll of the party that did it.
Probably more afraid of upsetting a few liberal Europeans. Whilst we are stuck with anything European this will keep happening.
