// All of these attacks have initially been blamed on al-Shabab. But in at least some cases, subsequent reporting has suggested turf-wars between local gangs. //
Yes, it's not as though revenge attacks, or politically motivated ones, by some of the religion don't represent the whole religion, is it baz ? I mean, Catholics who murdered or shot Catholics for mixing with Protestants, or committed other atrocities against innocent people, obviously represent Roman Catholicism.
baz, your remark was 'that's Islam for you, the religion of peace' which, I assume, was your response to a few Muslims killling in this instance, and intended to suggest that that act was proof that Islam was not the religion of peace. It is no more support for that contention than my example is of evidence that Catholicism is not the religion of peace, that is to say, none. If that was not the point of your remark, what was the point of it?
All beliefs lead to violence when they are pressed upon others , Religion and Politics being prime examples. Of the two religion is the worse because
it is a mixture of the two and based on mythology.
