/// The group's next action was a march Mr Alam hoped would be "a million strong" would take place in Hyde Park "in the next few weeks", he said. ///
/// "Until it is banned we will keep protesting," he added. ///
/// "We love our prophet more than our lives" and "Prophet Muhammad is the founder of freedom of speech" ///
Isn't that a contradiction of terms?

Any unapproved protest should be dealt with by water canon and tear gas followed by rubber bullets. Also set the dogs on them, they dont like dogs either. In fact not very British at all are they really?

There are several interesting points arising out of this protest; Additional voices from the religious calling for a coalition of believers from all spectrums of organised religion to band together and attempt to introduce greater "civility" toward religious ideas -code for introducing or tightening blasphemy laws. This should be resisted.
Second is the attempt to equate the notion of free speech, and this hate filled, propaganda film, clearly made to incite hatred, as a form of terrorism - This attempt to rebrand terrorism as not just the killing of human bodies, but the killing of human feelings as well - not a well thought out argument.
There is a muslim journalist called Mehdi Hassan, who writes on politics principally. I find myself disagreeing with much of what he writes, but he did write an interesting article, condemning the overreaction and violence that erupted across the muslim world following the publicity over this film, and I wish more muslims across the world would recognise his words and, frankly, grow up...

What I can't understand is why this affair has flared up once again since the mass mob attacks on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya, when the US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed, in early September.
At that time the name of the film was not mentioned, and yet now it has been mentioned, more people who would not have otherwise viewed it, have now all seen it.
Surely it would have been better if the Muslims had ignored it, no one forced them to watch it.

Not much interest shown in this I see, I wonder if some will wake up when they take the further action that they have promised in the next few weeks?

Unless of course the Home Secretary bans further marches, in the interests of safety and civil calm?
