Well it looks as if the Telegraph's poll thinks so 98.65% Yes, 1.35% no.

/// John Bercow has written to the expenses regulator warning him not to disclose official documents that show the identities of MPs’ landlords for “security” reasons. ///

Now does he expect us all to believe that this is the real reason?

Well, thats the reason that has been given for attempting to block the dlsclosure of such documents, but it is hard to see that it is a genuine concern.

Once again, it would appear that at least some MPs have hit upon a scheme that will make them money and support a property portfolio whilst being subsidised by the taxpayer, and Bercow is not doing himself any favours by attempting to block this.
It's hard to see whether it is tax payer funded homes being sub-rented out or MP's are renting their own homes out to other MP's who fund it as part of a legitimate expense.

If it is the former it is very wrong, the latter I dont see the problem so long as the rent paid is at market rates.

As usual with papers the exact nature of the 'crime' seems to be written in different ways through the article.
these thieves liars and generally corrupt mob have been caught out once and to a limited degree stopped in their tracks...so now they need to find other wheezes and japes to claw back the fiddled/stolen money from expenses

and some muppet in the news today reckons they should get a 39% pay increase !
That's exactly the same reason that was given for not revealing where MPs lived. The fact that revealing the addresses they gave would reveal which homess were being claimed for expenses, was, of course, not a consideration! It was nonsense then and it's nonsense now.
