"Judge Anne Molyneux said Oldfield had acted dangerously, disproportionately,"

the last word sums up this ridiculous judge and the way shes acted in sentencing.

If non-Oxbridge people have the right to object to what they perceive as discrimination against them by Oxbridge people, then in this society dedicated to equal opportunities for all, Oxbridge people should have the same right to object to discrimination against them by non-Oxbridge people. Equality and respect is a two-way thing, not one-way.
yes, disproportionate. A classic case where a bit of community service could have been ordered (not necessarily sweeping the quadrangles of Cambridge, though).
Yes.........lefty hang-wringing liberal judge; he should have got 5 years.

Or is that not what you meant?
A day in the stocks would probably have been most appropriate ...
It is not the first time he has carried out this kind of stunt so i suppose the punishment reflects that.

I suppose if he had been black and on benefits he would have got away with it!!
A day in the stocks? You're too kind Dave. x
Seems like a fair judgement to me and the Judge is absolutely correct. A better way for a far leftie nutter to protest might be to jump infront of a train.
Absolutely disproportionate sentence .

I bet she is one of the fox hunting set
I do love the way you put it JTH.

WR.
LoL, JtH - yes, definitely disproportionate.
good, he got what he deserved, he put any number of people in danger, and himself in a worse one, seeing as how had he been hit with an oar, would most likely have been seriously injured, possibly killed. Irresponsible beyond words.
irresponsible yes. Worthy of a jail sentence - I don't think so.
had he been seriously hurt, perhaps killed who would be responsible, i absolutely believe she made the right decision.
A good birching would be appropriate I think.
@em10 but those things didn't happen. It was a disproportionate sentence.
did you see how close he was, and not the first time he has done something like it.
@em10 So? It was simply disproportionate for the crime.

Other people jailed today for 6 months

Assault and theft - entirely appropriate for a jail sentence. Not appropriate for a plank who wanted to make a point in the Thames.
Trenton's a bit of an attention seeking @rse but I don't think he should be sent to prison. Perhaps some community work helping people who are 'actually' suffering from the cuts might have been better for the champagne socialist.
we just have to agree to disagree.
why is he a champagne socialist? He sounds entirely genuine.
