Sorry, I should have added above that surely not even they would have been sufficiently nutty to let the banks collapse, given the impact that any such action would have had on mortgages, loans and so forth involving ordinary electors. Pity in a way, it could have been the end of them!
Qyuizmonster At last we agree # You appear to forget that, when Labour was applying a "light regulation" regime on the banks, that was precisely the policy of the Tories as well and, of course, it was Thatcher who set them loose in the first place! #
That is what I said , you can blame previous governments here and abroad. They all allowed property prices to go through the roof until the bubble burst but once it happened the government , which happened to be Labour kept on spending and didn't put the brakes on.
So who ever won the last election it was an inherited mess , which Ed Milliband has admitted, and was booed by the unions when he said he would also have to make cuts.
So, now I'm QYuizmonster, I see! This isn't rocket science, you know, Muddler!
But enough...I'll leave it at that.
