I have just seen the photos of the 'carers'.
Would you want these people in your house?

That's my yardstick - would I have this person in my house? It has served me well over the years.
They are a disgrace to the word 'care'.
Sorry anne I have no idea what carers you're talking about, but your yardstick is well used by me as well.

Sorry, b
I meant the people on trial for abuse at Winterbourne.
I'm guessing it's this lot;

if it is, then NO WAY!
And they have closed the place down. I wonder where they will send them now?
nobody looks good in a police mugshot. But you probably shouldn't choose your carers on the basis of how photogenic they are.
i have seen so called carers handywork, and believe me i dread the day that i might have to go into a home..
I know where your coming from em, but the old saying still stands true imo if you pay peanuts then you get monkeys.
Some care homes are really good.
I know ummmm, but there are some that are not !
They look really caring don't they!!!!!!
Tony have you any idea the amount of money gets paid to the care home to look after these people, a small fortune. Some relatives have worked in care homes over the years, and i know that they would never ever behave like these bstards, the pay was very low then.
This job seems to attract the worst kind of bullying scum as "carers". Presumably it's lowly paid and attracts those that are borderline mental themselves. I don't have the answers but this kind of abuse of vulnerable people is all too common.
I think that they have got away with very light sentences, two years the max. What are other views?
two years for 9 counts of abuse what a farce.
Yes, DT, I also think they have got off lightly. I really hope that I never have to go into a care home
and that was the maximum given.....
I was just thinking that. So probably out in 18 months then
