Maybe this also belongs in the TV section but who else thought that apart from great entertainment this was also a serious and thought-provoking programme in view of upcoming events?
Personally I think it deserves an award.  What say you?

I actually thought that it was quite clunky, I'm afraid.

I didn't find the relationship terribly convincing, Bill Nighy seemed off form but worst of all, it came across like polemic. That's fine in a speech but bad in a drama.  

I say this as someone entirely in favour of the MPH campaign too.

On the other hand, if it did provide another way of informing people of some of the issues, then I'm glad it was shown.

I had much the same feeling as WaldoMcFrog. I felt it was unconvincing and a bit simplistic.

It felt unstructured and just a little bit odd. The two stories just didn't fit. It seemed to me that Richard Curtis was unable to come up with an original story line for the message and went with his tried and trusted Romantic Formula which didn't fit in with the story at all.

Again I'd agree it was worth while but I think if it were much better it might have had more of an impact.

Having just slagged Richard Curtis off I thought the MPH bit in the Vicar of Dibly was very effective.

An award!?? Gawd no, I didn't enjoy it at all.
The "message" was too dilute to be informative, the characters boring, the acting not great... the list goes on.
Bill Nighy's character was unnecessarily dull and difficult to relate to and the central relationship far too uneasy.

It may have drawn attention to the issue(s) here but it could have been far better and more thought provoking.
