It's been many, many years since I've read The Sun - so much so, that I'd forgotten about the Page 3 'stunnas'.

Is it now time, as Rupert Murdoch seems to be hinting, that Page 3 (as it currently is) be consigned to history?

They should get rid of pages 1-2 and 4-46

/Who said anything about the 1969 attitude towards women, surely to view is to see or look? /

Must remember that

If aog ever asks (say) 'how do you view the current state of the economy?'

then obviously the correct answer is 'with my eyes of course'
The girls choose to get them out - and folks choose to buy the Sun (heavens knows why). I doubt anyone buys the Sun just to see the topless girls -no one is forcing anyone to do anything so however 'last century' it may be its doing no one any real harm -is it??
Perhaps they should also remove all these from the Art Galleries too, they are defiantly past their sell by date.

No-one's talking about banning page 3. It's more about whether they're right to be thinking of scrapping it on the grounds that it's a bit outdated and silly.

Murdoch might be talking about it but they won't change anything if it's going to be unpopular with the readers, which it looks like it is.

Personally as I said before, I think they should either bin the whole paper or leave it as it is.
Pathetic pointless whinge about page 3

Dont like it? then don't buy it/read it

What you usually find is the ones who slate the Sun are the ones who see a copy on the canteen table at work and pick it up to have a flick through it - and yes, stopping off to feast their eyes on the beautiful pair on Page 3

Actually, you might find that this thread has people discussing the merits of Page 3 and whether its still relevant.

Comparing Page 3 to pre-Raphealite art is like comparing Bucks Fizz to Rachmaninov.
AOG, the point is that, notwithstanding that men's attitudes towards women have changed over recent decades, they still like looking at female breasts. The argument against page 3 is that it represents outdated attitudes; that half- naked women should be objects for the titillation of men,and just to sell papers; which belong in a different age.

That argument is plural and they repair shoes (as explained in more detail above)

That's exactly what I do. There's always one in our local chinese takeaway that I flick through while I'm waiting. If I'd never seen it I wouldn't know how crap it was. It takes me about 2 minutes to read the whole thing, and yes, about 1 minute thirty of that is spent looking at page three.
It doesn't mean I'd ever pay good money to buy one though. That would be ridiculous.
