Why are our appeal judges almost always fooled into believing an illegal immigrant when they say that if they are sent back to their country they will face torture and sometimes death?
If it is true, and in this case the country in question happens to be Afghanistan, why are we supporting a regime that meters out torture and death?

Because suppressing the Taliban and denying al quaeda training camps was our foreign policy
Ditto
we supported the taliban (when we called them Mujadin) because they were fighting the Soviets
the CIA equipped and supported Saddam Hussein because he was fighting Iran on their behalf
the Americans are currently employing (buying off) murderous militias for 'security duties' in Iraq
the Americans support the most repressive, islamic regime in the world - Saudi Arabia because it is their regional ally and hosts their air bases
It's called Realpolitik

>>>This sends out an amazing message to the world about the UK.
Yes it tells them we are gullible and stupid, will believe anything you say (if you say you are gay or say you will be tortured), and just encourages more people to come here who want to sponge off us.
But we seem hell bent on self destruction and "giving away" the country to other races and religions.

The judges are only following laws made by the government. If the human rights laws are wrong they should change them. At the moment more consideration is given to foreigners than the safety of our country and the terrorists are making full use of our generousity. After travelling through about 10 countries he could easily have used the human rights law when passing through them.
To be honest 2 wrongs do not make a right so we should not let them potentially get tortured or killed. It really shows how much better we are than the terrorists and we should really be proud of how advanced and how fair we are. So long as they are closely monitored then I can consider it a success.
