Why Elect An Old Man As Pope?

Last Pope quit cos he could no longer manage and now they've elected a 76 year old. Doesn't seem a smart idea to me.

I wish him luck. He seems nice.
Don't agree with his teachings, though.
will there ever be a young woman pope one day, or should that be popess..
Not unless there is a radical change in doctrine...
you never know, move with the times and all that.
so why can't the Catholic church elect one, makes a change i would have thought from all these old men.
Change is maybe what they are afraid of!
i am a non believer, so guess it doesn't matter much, but a nice pleasant looking woman would certainly be a change.

It's bad enough when the police look like kids, but you always want a Pope to look older than you.
If you're not really in line to be Pope this time around, vote for someone who won't last too long. You might be in line next time.
Was rather suspicious about poor old pope john paul 1st. Did sound as if he was bumped off.
