That the Italian legal system doesn't get any prizes for speed and efficiency and that one defendant is now at the University of Washington and the Italians will never get her back, because the US won't allow it.

I doubt Knox will be extradited. She was brought back to the US after her acquittal in no time at all, hero(ine)'s welcome, most of the people over there think she is innocent. Not going to happen.

Regardless of whether or not you think these 2 were involved in Ms Kerchers murder; Unless they have new and compelling evidence with which to present to the court, the evidence they have would seem insufficient to convict. This same evidence has been tested to start with and then overturned on appeal, so it just seems a bit odd to me to bring a retrial with the same evidence.

And can you really have a meaningful trial if the accused do not even have to attend the trial? All very strange to me....

I have read a couple of the books suggested by JJ about this case and I'm still not convinced either way. I just don't know. LG I don't see what difference it makes whether they are there or not if the court is just looking at old evidence and presumably they wouldn't be allowed to speak?
