Stopped PMSL, this is beyond ridiculous now, same sex relationships have been with us since straight relationships. What we are talking about here is making sure that all people have the same democratic rights, doesn’t matter who they are.
Given that same sex relationships have endured and I don’t see civilisation collapsing, the extension of marriage isn’t going to bring Armageddon any closer.
You should think on as well no gay couple have ever bought a gay child into the world, so maybe you should campaign to stop sex, full stop.

Who is 'thinking on' and who is 'campaigning'?
This is just a thread to open up a debate on what this actor said, I had nothing to do with it except for asking the question, and isn't that what AnswerBank is all about?
So Why the personal attack?

Actor Jeremy Irons hasn't really thought it through.
Fathers will not be able to marry their own sons, in the same way that fathers cannot marry their own daughters to avoid inheritance tax.
Mothers also cannot marry their own sons for the same reason.
You know when opponents to marriage equality are losing the argument when they raise points like these.
Silly Jeremy.

anotheoldgit, you were quick to have a pop a Clare Balding's "claims" as you called them even though they were supported by her own experiences (unlike yours) and evidence from the English FA. Now you say Irons has made a statement (not a claim) without even a hint of a disagreement. What do you think on what all he said?

Can you see where Mr Irons has gone wrong here?
It seems patently obvious to me, and mini expert in the law. Even with the introduction of same sex marriage, fathers won't be able to marry their sons in the same way they can't marry their daughters right now.
I think you have been a little cruel in highlighting Mr Irons' rank stupidity. I might not have even noticed this had you not pointed it out.
Do you think he may be a bit...confused?
Maybe he was 'refreshed' whilst taking part in the interview?
Who knows...
