Indian Call Centres..

As I type this, I'm on hold to Talk Talk. It's a call centre, based in India.
The guy is really lovely, and helpful, though he has to keep putting me on hold to find out what the flump is going on.
Love how he keeps calling me "miss Charlotty" (my name is Charlotte/Charlie) bless him.

Do you get annoyed with the language barrier, or are you patient (like me) ?

No it p!sses me off, had to speak to one today ( BT ) had to keep asking him to repeat what he was saying.

I've put him on speaker whilst he goes and sorts it all out. He's so confused, bless him. Actually we both are.

I do lose my patience here I must admit, I can barely understand some English accents, Scottish is very difficult, some Indians are impossible! I have to ask to speak to an English person, they are often available.

Tony, Mike is quite clear actually. He's been gone a while though. I end up feeling sorry for them. Lord help them if I've had a drink. I start asking about Eastenders...

The Indian fella I spoke to at a call centre the other day spoke with an Indian/American twang. I spent most of the call having him repeat what he was saying. It was frustrating.

I get more annoyed when I have to hang on for ages, how can Call Centres always be so busy? I think they've gone to make a cup of tea and are on a break half the time. And I'm hard of hearing so I can't understand an English accent unless its from London, let alone an Indian one. So sometimes I do get a bit annoyed but I must say they are always so polite you can't really get angry with them, and they do try their best. But I wish I could hear a nice English cut glass accent, the ones in the old British black and white films and old BBC clips from the 1950s (or Stephen Fry) that's all I can understand.

cant talk properly cos im on the phone but just thought of another time. Asda call centre are based in south africa. some nice accents going on there :)

Zaks - My chiropodist is a South African (ex). He has been in this country for twenty years but still has the accent. He is very nice.

When you ring Amazon their call centre is in the Philippines. I can understand them, but the Indian ones really frustrate me, and why do they all have English names?
