Someone shot Lincoln and John Lennon, but they were not part of a crowd running amok and shouting 'I'm glad he's dead'. Let's have a party'
Fred, the Loonies, the disrespectful people who are glad that Maggie is dead, young people following like sheep, who weren't even here when she was PM or
understand what the situation was or the reasons for the policies. These things do not address the dreadful things mentioned in the OP but it is an example of unruly unchecked behaviour that is with us now. Now the excuse is,these are vulnerable bi-polar,badly abused educationally subnormal orphans of the state who have a cat so we can't deport them or give them a good smack sort ofpeople because the EU has dictated that we cannot cross their Human Rights. What a disgrace.
Lincoln and Lennon were popular. Thatcher and Perceval were less so. You'll just have to deal with the fact that not everyone loved her as much as you. And if you care to read what I wrote, people DID rejoice over Perceval's death 20 years ago, so this isn't some sort of modern wickedness.
indeed, 200 years ago
Didn't say I loved Thatcher, my grandfather and uncles were all Durham miners. But I do have respect for people.
/// What's wrong with this country ///

It's because we have persons such as jake-the-peg & Answerprancer who would rather attack the Daily Mail, than consider the damage done to the poor victims of these crimes, or even condemn the fact that we allow foreign criminals into this country, to carry on committing their vile crimes, and then when caught are mostly given light sentences.

And how many times is that stupid video going to be wheeled out?

Perhaps answerprancer really believes that the Daily Mail made these crimes up?

/// "Selection bias is picking non typical examples and presenting them as evidence of a supposed trend". ///

Perhaps the Daily Mail should not report if North Korea attacks South Korea?

After all it would not be a typical example, and there would be no evidence of a supposed trend.
The justice system is a joke, that's what's wrong with this country, others think differently it seems!!
jno

/// "The norm"? You seriously believe that within a few years everyone will be behaving like this? ///

By the use of the word 'norm' does not mean EVERYONE will be behaving in such a way.

This is the type of over sensationalising the same ABers accuse the Daily Mail of taking part in.
It's amazing that a certain few would rather get their anti-Daily Mail gripes aired, and criticise others especially those of a more mature age, than condemn these crimes and those who committed them.

I wonder if they would feel the same if it had been a loved one of theirs (if they have any) who had been so brutally raped, or their elderly relatives who had been so terrorised?
Surely, aog, it is universally accepted that these crimes are horrific. The Daily Mail bashers are complaining that the Daily Mail has an agenda which includes giving the impression that foreigners are responsible for most, or a vastly disproportionate number, of such crimes, aren't they?

/// The Daily Mail bashers are complaining that the Daily Mail has an agenda which includes giving the impression that foreigners are responsible for most, or a vastly disproportionate number, of such crimes, ///

That is just not true, the Daily Mail reports on most such crimes regardless of the nationality of the criminal.

From that it would seem it would have been perfectly in order for the Daily Mail to report on it if he had been 'one of our own', and of course much more acceptable to some ABers?
"a certain few" ..as in half of the country.
Sorry AOG but if you really believe that the DM isn't horrifically biased then I believe you are delusional.
re. Your comment about me and JTP - LOL You twist opinions the same way that rag does!
"Perhaps answerprancer really believes that the Daily Mail made these crimes up?"
No he doesn't, don't be crass. If that's your only defence, it's a bit feeble really. What's wrong with that video? Uncomfortable with the truth are we?
As you fascists often say "Is he not allowed to have an opinion?"
Answerprancer

/// "a certain few" ..as in half of the country. ///

There you go again with your rash statements, "half the country"???????

Know that for certain do you, funny because the Daily Mail website is the World's most popular newspaper website.

/// The Mail’s website MailOnline is now the world’s biggest newspaper website. ///

/// According to new figures from Comscore, the ‘gold standard’ web measurement firm, in December 2011 MailOnline recorded 45.348million unique visitors. ///

/// The next closest newspaper was the New York Times which had 44.787million unique users. ///

But apart from all that, when I put 'a certain few' I wasn't referring to the world, merely 'A CERTAIN FEW' on AnswerBank

Please try and keep up.
Answerprancer

/// As you fascists often say "Is he not allowed to have an opinion?" ///

You have been warned before, please refrain from accusing others of being Fascists, especially myself, or I can see you being banned, if not by the ED, but certainly by myself.
okay, aog, do you believe that in a few years half the people of the country will be behaving like this? Because that would make it "normal", wouldn't it?
jno

/// okay, aog, do you believe that in a few years half the people of the country will be behaving like this? Because that would make it "normal", wouldn't it? ///

Well at least I am making a little progress with you, I have now made you reduce your 'EVERYONE' by 50%.
aog, you cannot deny, can you, that some people have the perception that the Daily Mail plays up crimes involving foreign or immigrant defendants? [Note I say 'perception' so you need not claim that the facts are against it] Now, for what reason do you think that perception exists? It does not seem to exist in relation to the Express or the Telegraph, does it? So what does the Mail do that those papers do not?
/acting up about Maggie then ask yourself would this have happened twenty five years ago./

Err...

The (anti Thatcher) Poll Tax Riots were in 1990 askyourgran

That's 23 years ago

Seems like you need to recalibrate your 'good old days' perception
/Perhaps the Daily Mail should not report if North Korea attacks South Korea?

After all it would not be a typical example, and there would be no evidence of a supposed trend. /

Back to your 'Dunce's Corner' aog

If North Korea attacks South Korea it would be an extremely 'typical' example of what NK is currently up to

Sadly, the Daily Mail agenda which most rational and objective people are only too well aware of would be to report such a North Korean attack as evidence that more and more countries are increasingly attacking each other these days, compared with the 'good old days' and the type of countries most likely to be up to that kind of thing are the North Korean types.

Hardly an accurate or helpful distortion of the truth is it?
