In an effort to calm everybody down, I would like to introduce a light-hearted new topic. Hope it works !

I have just seen an article in the Guardian that claims that 1 in 10 houses in the UK have a hot tub, rising to 1 in 5 in the West Midlands. This is according to a new survey, although they are not saying who commissioned the survey, who carried it out, and where the survey was done. But I expect it was somebody heavily involved in household plumbing.

1 in 10 sounds highly improbable but 1 in 5 sounds impossible !

Is there anybody on AB, living in a tower block anywhere in Britain, but especially the West Midlands who can have a quick look out their windows and give us some feedback please ?

Personally I stopped bathing with other people when I was 10 and my next down brother was 5, and have no great desire to start again.

Awww Pictures on tinypic never show or open for me. :(
Hot tub - what a gross idea .

What if ( for example ) someone has failed to wipe their bum properley
Bazile, thats fine in a hot tub, give it a quick scrub, no one will notice, just dont share the tub with swingers, you may find all sorts sticking to you!!
Ewwwww stop it Bazile. :)
Thank goodness I don't use public pools, tubs etc.
At least in a swimming pool there is a lot of water to spread it about , plus it's chlorinated .

However, a hot tub , where there is only a ' pint ' of water , therefore it's concentrated ?
Our local DIY emporium sells inflatable hot tubs, it appears that they take about 24 hours to get up to temperature, so that is about 50 kilowatt hours at 12 pence per unit so we have a cost of £6 just to heat it up. Might be good for breeding piranhas? any other suggestions, laundry comes to mind.
"It's okay Mikey lol, I don't think she likes me very much "

I can assure you Sharingan, I do not "dislike" you. I don't even know you.

Stop being so paranoid...
above picture........................RATTER as a wee boy :)
Next door have a hot tub, but they're swingers and have a lot else aside.
The BF is considering converting part of his double garage into a sauna.
But i don't know many people with one or t'other.
Neighbours next door but one have one but it's the only tub in the village!
There's lies, damn lies and statistics
Sure it isnt 1 in 10 Guardian readers have a hot tub ?
This put me off hot tubs for life !
Poppy-cock!! I am in WM, and I know of 3 people with an outdoor hot tub (out of about 1000 people I know ..... this sounds a lot, but Facebook tells me I have 698 "friends", so the 1000 is probably conservative, adding on the people I know who are not on FB)
I'm from the West Midlands (Shropshire so the more rural Welsh side) originally and don't know anyone with one.

Don't know anyone with one up here in Manchester either - more likely to find someone with a gun round here I'd imagine!
