Would you have preferred it to have been the £8m so that you could have a proper moan?
cobblars.....all those service personnel would have been paid whether they were in attendance at a funeral or on their usual parade.

The guests paid for their own outfits - where's the cost ?

Give it a rest.

She is dead and buried so move on to something else.

She has SAVED the UK far more than that when she did a deal with EU for us to pay less to them every year, that runs into billions since the deal.

''Drop in the ocean''

would have been a much cheaper option.
I agree. A drop in the ocean would have been a lot cheaper!
the telegraph reckons that equates to 6p each.

sooo - if you disapproved of such expenditure, what would you have done with your 6p?

LOL at tambo with COBBLARS!
That's a lot less than this summer's union led strikes will cost us.

I am not sure why the government's critics who have argued for more public spending disapprove of this expenditure when surely it gave a boost (albeit small) to the economy in terms of police overtime, employment of street cleaners, sales of TV rights, sales of beer/champagne in those areas celebrating her death, etc.

Maggie is gone - long live Maggie.
Sir prize,
Sometimes when people love someone so much they feel ashamed by the emotions coursing through their veins. To counter theses feelings they often project anger towards the object of their affections in the hope that this will disguise their love.
Fairly cheap when you reckoned they need a practice for probably Prince Philip and then the Queen, and maybe even Charley boy squeezing into the box before his Mum, all entitled to State Funerals.

Then how much did it generate in travel/hotel/restaurants/and all the rest re the attendees, journos/TV crews and all the rest in London.......
worth every penny.
I'd donate 6p to her funeral any time.
Not much I could spend 6p on.
well, only if they asked nicely and I had change in my purse
I look forward to Blair's.

How can they now deny 3 election winning, undefeated Blair, a semi state funeral? A precedent has been set.
It was meant to be 10m. They undespent. This wouldnt have happened with a Labour funeral!
