I am not sure why the government's critics who have argued for more public spending disapprove of this expenditure when surely it gave a boost (albeit small) to the economy in terms of police overtime, employment of street cleaners, sales of TV rights, sales of beer/champagne in those areas celebrating her death, etc.
Fairly cheap when you reckoned they need a practice for probably Prince Philip and then the Queen, and maybe even Charley boy squeezing into the box before his Mum, all entitled to State Funerals.
Then how much did it generate in travel/hotel/restaurants/and all the rest re the attendees, journos/TV crews and all the rest in London.......
