A good point admarlow. Also, on the day before the bombings, a man of Arabic origin dropped his wallet on the tube. A friend of mine gave it back to him, and he said ,'You might want to stay at home tomorrow...'
The above is totally untrue, however, it is virtually word for word identical to a story that went global about a day after 9/11, along with several slight variations. The fact that a load of people are repeating the same story but not one person is saying 'I saw it' suggests the CW story is equally an urban myth.
I've said what she saw (it wasn't me, which I've also said). It was mentioned at a press conference later in the day on 7th, but the police denied knowledge at that time. As a serious incident, if it were wholly unrelated, you might expect to see a column inch somewhere in the centre of the major papers...?
A man was shot down by what looked like police as he ran towards Canary Wharf.
As far as I could see he wasn't killed out right because he was still moving on the floor, he was taken away immediately by the officers in an unmarked vehicle.
It all happened so quickly, I'm not suprised very few people didn't witness it.
