How do you feel about this? Theresa May has approved funding for it.

Anyway didnt she disappear in Praia del Roche ? The met has a lot of Portuguese speakers huh ?
At last. Let a load of proper detectives have a go.

So you think it's a complete waste of time then PP and they shouldn't be doing it?
IMO it's been too long ago now. What do they hope to find (apart from MM of course)? - but she could be anywhere in the world by now.
Question Author
So you don't think they should follow up the 20 potential suspects and dozens of new leads they identified in their review then boxy?

I didn't say that at all, ladybirder, I don't know anything about 20 new suspects. what evidence will there be, though, so many years later?
Absolutely the right thing to do
No Peter, it was Praia da Luz.

Question Author
The Telegraph mentions the new suspects and leads boxy.

I think it is the right thing to do but, stating the obvious, there will be plenty who don't for various reasons. Madeleine deserves it as the Portuguese investigation was botched.
Lets hope its not the same "proper Detectives" that investigated the Hillsboro disaster.
\\\Lets hope its not the same "proper Detectives" that investigated the Hillsboro disaster. \\\\

LOL

No, I do not think that it is justified.....Cardiologist husband with a GP wife, both media friendly...............double standards here.

Would they do it fro Mr and |Mrs Joe Bloggs from Oldham? I doubt it.
Question Author
sqad does it matter who her parents are? A little girl is missing and her disappearance was never been investigated properly unlike the disappearance of some, but not all, other children.

\\\ A little girl is missing and her disappearance was never been investigated properly\\\

You may well be right, but i doubt whether the Portuguese Authorities would agree. What you seem to be implying and please forgive me if i am wrong, but unless the British police have investigated a crime, then it is likely that it hasn't been investigated "properly".....a hint of arrogance but you may well be right.

My point is, that should the same situation happen to a child of The Bloggs family......would the Government provide funding?....I doubt it.
"Would they do it fro Mr and |Mrs Joe Bloggs from Oldham? I doubt it."

theyre still spending time and money for Mr and Mrs Lawrence from Eltham...or is that different !?
Question Author
No sqad, that's not what I was implying at all. The Portuguese Police have refused to re-open the case despite the Met coming up with a list of suspects and leads that need investigation. So the Met will be doing it. I'm glad SOMEbody is doing it. And No, I agree, I don't think it would happen for Mr & Mrs Bloggs unless they put the pressure on like the McCanns did, unfortunately. But it should.
Question Author
Yes, the Lawrences, they kept the pressure on.
I really hope they do find her but I somehow doubt it, I don't think she is still alive to be honest.
Question Author
I'd want to know if she was dead. To go to your grave not knowing whether your child is alive or dead must be a terrible thing. Like poor Keith Bennett's mother.
I have my own thoughts on this, and don't think I'm alone.
giveup, I may be thinking similar thoughts!
