Tesco are banning barefoot shoppers in some stores and those who are scantily dressed ....men (no shirts) women in swimwear or wearing very little.

I expect they have had complaints about sweat dripping off chests and on to the fruit and veg and well it can offend on a few other levels too.

I wonder why the others supermarkets aren't doing the same..

They banned that woman in her pyjamas a couple of years ago. I think they're quite right. I've never seen anyone in swimwear in my Tesco, mind you.
I don't quite see the problem with bare feet.

But voluptuous women in microbikinis could be there to divert male staff while their accomplices make off with all the cabbages.
rightly so even the spuds have jackets on them
bare feet run the risk of tesco being sued if the floor is wet or if there are breakages....
It seems to be the norm in Liverpool for women to go shopping in pjs!

I've just moved to NZ and loads of people here are in bare feet and it's supposed to be winter!
I tell you something - there's no way I would go into the Truro Tesco's in bare feet.

All you have to do is go and see the men's toilets, tight and cramped, two stalls, nice puddles of urine on the floor, people then standing it and walking around the store.

I have mentioned this to management and how I would like to get that Aggie woman in with her u-v detector just to see how far it spreads in the shopping area.

Anybody else fancy going bare-foot now?
I wouldn't, DT :-(
I agree with this action, living in a prime holiday destination we have seen too much flesh bared at the supermarkets. The beach is the place for all that !
DT, that is just gross !!
Can't say I've ever paid attention. I don't really notice other shoppers.

I go to the corner shop in my pj's...but most of my pj's look like lounge clothes.
I am getting old fashioned, I know - but public places demand at least some modicum of decency - although the unrepentant sexist in me would quite enjoy shopping at jnos supermarket full of voluptuous women in microkinis :)

And the idea of paddling around in bare feet in other peoples urine is a fairly repulsive image - I shall not be visiting Truro Tesco anytime soon :)
I could never go to the supermarket in my night attire !
The ladies can be like that too, DT
In short, it's disgusting and it grosses me out.....Sainsbury's here do not seem to have any issue, their loos are spotless.
I could probably go in ummmm's night attire, she sounds quite smart.

I wonder how they actually ban them....could they be missing a marketing trick - selling cloaks at the door. (I'm very bored tonight)

I wouldn't like to be the member of staff tacking the issue....a realy fun job.... call security I've seen the barefoot shopper!
We've got a security man on the door at our Tesco, I guess he'd just stop them entering.
I can foresee some youtube clips of flashmobs descending on Tesco and stripping off in the aisles
to add to these two in Tescos not long ago, factor! Media URL: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/telegraphtv/9812945/Panto-horse-burger-meat-prank-sees-pair-thrown-out-of-Tesco.html
