I'm on a UK site and yet the Ontario Provincial Police is warning me to stay away from the waters around our hydroelectric power stations and dams.. That's quite a long reach isn't it?

How did you manage that? You weren't searching for something in Ayr, were you? That can bring up news from Ayr, Ontario. (Same with Cairo, if you are interested; that can bring up Cairo, New York State)

Fred, I live in Ontario, and I guess that computers "follow" you around. Sometimes when I'm on this site I get ads from stores or businesses in Toronto or other places close to me. I just thought it humerous that the cops found me out on this site:)

Ah, get it. If you're ever in Ayr , you can look out for a friend of mine ! ;) People over here don't appreciate that Canada is a place where people measure journeys in time, not distance, because distances become meaningless. Everywhere is X hours or, rarely, X minutes away. And we think that everyone in Vancouver must be familiar with life, the places, and the climate of the East. Well, it's in the same country and must be down the road!

Just checked. Ontario covers over 1 million square kilometres .The whole of the United Kingdom's land area is less than a quarter of that at 241,390. It's an odd place. What the heck are humming birds doing in a place that thinks minus 15 in Winter is fairly mild ?
