Someone said in a previous thread:

/// "Heterosexual people have various partners and manage to bring up unconfused children". ///

Perhaps they should read this?

/// Absent fathers are a common factor among criminals, drug addicts, and self-harmers ///

and he is a Labour man, so it's not all about the tories is it, sure there are plenty of Labour MP's who have thought about and perhaps talked on this very subject.
ummm - it is entirely down to how people are judged - judgement being the crux of this kind of nonsense.

I think it panders to the minds of married Tories who look down on peole who are either a) not married, or b) not Tory, or c) both of the above. It's that kind if superiority complex that makes Middle England such an odious place.
Pure snobbery.
do you really think that, that Middle England think themselves superior,
married Tories, gosh so no Labour Party married man, woman would think that, an odious place, im stunned.
The question is, then - are "present" fathers also a common factor among criminals, drug addicts, and self-harmers ///
doesn't the Midlands as they are now almost always referred to have pretty much diverse communities, or are you referring solely to the so called Shires..
(my guess is "yes")
which, if the Shires, then it isn't all Midsomer Murders.. i am still stunned, sweeping statement to label your countrymen and women so..
I live in Bucks...
Isn't middle England meant as 'middle class'?
the author of that piece in the mail is nuts. have you ever listened, or watched her on tv, some of her ideas are off the wall.
no idea, but middle class, whatever that is must surely live elsewhere.
find out which you are, it's bunkum, we should be over this class system long ago.

Hmmm. I came up as "established middle class". Lol. Not convinced!
'Middle-England' is a state of mind and attitude rather than anything more geographical, or financial....
There will always be rich and poor and those in between.
I came up as established middle class as well, all those that met me last weekend can have a good laugh at that, I am.
rich or poor i agree, however the generalisation that was put forward is just absurd,
rocky, so not out hunting, shooting and fishing, m'lady..
i nearly put m'lud, but thought that's not right x
