Wrapping An Empty Gift Box And Lid Seperate... How To?

Hello AB'ers.

I have purchased some small (6cm by 6cm) boxes that have completely removable lids. I couldn't find ones that that were patterned the way I wanted so thought it would be easy enough to wrap the boxes myself with desired paper.

I want to wrap the lid and box separately (so they are wrapped even when opened) and would like them to look as good as physically possible. Hvaing tried several attempts to wrap both lid and box I cannot for the life of me make them look good - the paper I am using is thin and very pliable but I can't seem to wrap the paper tight enough or get a good pattern.

I have tried YOUTUBE for a step by step guide and found a couple but both are using large boxes which seems much easier. I think the size of the box isn't helping.

Any ideas how to make my life easier to get these done - I only have to do 25 of the but its proving to be a pain.

Thanks for your help

you are best sticking the whole lot down with pritt stick rather than trying to pull it tight etc.
coat the whole surface with it, and then pull the excess round as you go along
Glue? A Prit Stick?
better than pritt stick is pva glue, the white stuff, Cut your bits to size, allow a bit of overlap to cover the edges, paste the box with glue and put the paper on, get it as wrinkle free as poss but, like wall paper, it will stretch a bit when wet and shrink smooth as it dries,
I can do it really quite easily and a friend was gob-smacked when I quickly wrapped a couple of boxes for her in record time while she removed Sellotape from her hair and wrapping paper from her ear. Sadly there is no way I could describe it to you.

My top tip is to cut a piece of paper that is roughly the right size and shaped with just enough to tuck inside. Having an unwieldy, mahoosive sheet of paper does make your life extra difficult.
If the boxes are an acceptable colour then why not decorate with pretty stickers or even do some decoupage - wrapping boxes so small is unlikely to get you crisp clean lines/
