I don't think she's evil either, just not very well educated and easily led. I'm not defending what she did though, far from it. He, on the other hand, is evil personified and I'm glad his appeal was rejected.
I don't find it hard to believe. I've seen first hand how easy it is to take complete control over another person. They knock your confidence so much that you can't even think for yourself.
What I find difficult to understand is just what was the attraction for these two stupid women in Philpott ? He's hardly an oil painting. When I saw him on the TV with Ann Widdecombe, it took me about 10 seconds to see that he was a complete tw*t. A truly horrible man.
different people have different perceptions, mikey. What's obvious to one isn't obvious to another. Bullies tend to prey on the weak and vulnerable; if you're not vulnerable yourself, you may be immune to whatever attraction he has, but it doesn't mean others will be.
This Philpott business has been discussed on AB ad nausea. It still remains that everybody stood by while he carried on his disgraceful behaviour. I am on record for saying many times that if those children had been taken into care, they would still be alive today.
This case upset me more than I can tell, and it still does. Those beautiful children.
