Has This Type Of Thing Always Happened, Or Are Some Of Today's Kids Becoming More Violent?

I think we now have a society were many children have never been "told off" and they can almost do what they like. So when they ARE told off, they react like this. Some schools seem to be scared to tell kids off so behaviour in some schools is terrible, and kids get away with it. Some kids grow up demanding laptops, smartphones, games consoles, TVs in their room etc....

AOG, comparisons of crime data between countries is often skewed because the data is reported and measured in varying scales across nations. It also depends on the mood at the time....

Yes, it does AOG - I would question those numbers without context/citation.
You'd like it, besides anything else it would strengthen some of your beliefs with hard numbers and dismiss some others with equally qualified arguments. It is considered one of the most important books of the last 10 years.
Also contains a nice map which can convince anyone that the British are the most civilized of any country in the world.

had a rather nasty experience myself a few weeks back, three youths who were in school uniforms, reckon they were 14/15, jostling outside a ladies loo, the boy was going to go in there, don't ask me why, and i asked him to please mind out the way, that started a conversation that went on the lines of one teen to the other, you aren't going to stand for that are you, comments directed towards me, there were other words i didn't get as needed the loo.
on coming out one of the girls was goading him to do something, don't let her speak to you like that, sort of comment, i did think he was about to hit me as he was standing right at my back with hands raised. Had he done so what could i have done, there was no reason for the comments or possible attack, none whatsoever. There were other people around, but i was somewhat isolated for a while, and anything could have happened. Ugly people do ugly things.

AOG - accusing people of defending and excusing violent crime just because they haven't totally agreed with your post, and have actually proved you wrong, does nothing to support your argument and actually just makes you look a bit childish.
You know very well that no-one - not one single person - is defending and excusing violent crime, yet you choose to deliberately misunderstand their words in order to bolster your own stance.
it doesn't.
trying to vaguely imply the other person must somehow be a thug themselves if they support it and are therefore not a respectable member of society and shouldn't be listened to, is a common trick people try when they really have no-where else to go with their argument ...
its one step away from name-calling... and we all know why people resort to name calling ...
