Is it not disgraceful that measures such as this have to be implemented here in Britain, while we still increase aid to 'Bongo, Bongo Countries'?

/// The scheme was set up in north Staffordshire in response to shoplifters’ claims that they had no choice but to turn to crime to feed themselves or their families. After accepting a caution a crook can be given vouchers to use at nine distribution centres in the area. ///

my son gets £45 a week, because he is my carer his money was cut,he can still manage but its a struggle and I have to help him out at times,i buy a lot of his food.
THECORBYLOON: I give about 6.46% of my income per calender month to charity.
dizmouk - are you living with your parents? It is impossible to pay rent, household bills, pay travelling costs, clothe and feed yourself on £70 a week and still donate over 6% to charity.
Fred - "How is it that they are short of food when the rest on benefits are not?"

Rob Peter to pay Paul....or don't pay Paul and use Peter's cash to buy food.

£71 a week? Who can live on that, buy food and pay bills?

I am impressed at your generousity, on a £20,000 income that's about £108 a month.
Is 'bongo bongo' going to replace 'savages'?
dizmouk2009...read my post. I an not sure what more I can say ? It would seem to me that TESCO is doing a great deal to help Food Banks. Whatever TESCO's corporate policy is, they are a very great value to us, as are ASDA, Waitrose and Sainsburys.

Perhaps you could volunteer to help your local Food Bank and then you would see for yourself. It quite enjoyable to help people you know.

I also a bit puzzled ...you say that " I don't agree that it's right for people to donate to The British Red Cross and that money then be sent to 3rd world countries when it would be far easier to give that money to our own country for people who need it " But then, in your next sentence, you say that you donate money to other countries ?
dizmouk2009, I’ve changed my mind. I am going to shoot you down. Many people who own businesses have lived with nothing – which is why they’ve had the incentive to get off their backsides and work all the hours God sends to build their business. I get sick of people whinging on about businesses raking in the profits. Business generates jobs and jobs generate wealth for the country – and if someone has worked to build a business and happens to make a lot of money doing it, then bloody good luck to him! What do you want him to do? Give his hard-earned money to you?
I'm forced to live with my parents only because I need the mental support not physical support. I could easily claim council tax benefits, housing benefits job seekers allowance and still get by. I know this because I know someone sodding doing it and it makes me sick. I'm trying to find work but I need other help first. It is easy to live off that amount. If you have kids (which I don't) you just get a part time job 16 hours a week and then you can RAKE in working tax allowance. I'm not sat here making this up, unfortuanatly I have to associate with people pulling the same stunt to drain our poorly built benefits system.
DIZMOUK2009, forgot you were on JSA so that percentage is about £20 a month then.
THECORBYLOON: Yes that's right. When I had a job I decided to donate money to charity and after losing my job for personal reasons I decided I would continue doing so if I could financial do so. I hate being on benefits. I have mental health issues which could cause me to be on benefits for the rest of my life which I HOPE TO GOD won't happen. I have a problem with people who are on benefits because they can't be bothered to get off their backsides.
It's easy to live off JSA when you live with your parents.
mikey4444: I don't agree with it but I will still send money to TBRC because they do give a percentage of money to a good cause within our country. I don't like that a percentage of your wage is going to me every two weeks but I still draw that money don't I?

Sometimes we have to live with things we don't like and that is one of them. If I know that even 0.02% of my donation is going to help someone in my Country then I can live with the other 99.98% going to Africa.
hc4361: I buy all my own food, clothes and everything else not listed.

I also pay my debts. I'm left with nothing but I choose to eat nice food. Maybe you're all right and I should do some charity work. I will look into doing that.
DIZMOUK209 said,"I believe that the way to educate people is to give them a taste of what it feels like to live with nothing, I'm up for the test." why did you claim JSA then? If you want to be tested, close the claim and see how far you get.
THECORBYLOON: maybe I will.
dizmo, you haven't asked for advice but I'm going to give my opinion. You need to cancel your charity payments and aim to pay off your debts. Then you need to start saving so that when you are in a position to leave home and live independently you'll have money put by for a deposit on a flat.
I don't mean to butt in and answer on Diz's behalf but....he's recently separated from his wife, he had his own house etc etc...
stealing large blocks of cheese, or the other favourite, lkarge jars of brabded coffee, has been a staple income of the drug addicts for decades, don't be conned into thinking they are buying it to feed their families, they live off junk food not decent cheese. The other staple commodity is bacon, ask anyone in the co-op how much bacon cheese and coffee they get nicked, ask B00 , she'll tell you, it's sold before it;s nicked too! nicked to order as it were.
