London Bombings????

Is it safe to go to the theatres. Ok this does sound odd but, it obviously isn't working for the bombers in the underground, so they'll target in another place where lots of people go... the theatre... what do you think???

Personally, I think they could hit anywhere... but if we are frightened to go to any place in London then they have won haven't they?  To be honest, I don't think this is the end...I think they will try again.  These people aren't afraid of dying and will go to great lengths to finish what they started.

Personally, I feel that there is more chance getting killed on the way to the theatre by accident than there is getting killed by a terrorist.

In 2001 there were 3443 fatalities on the road. I don't recall seeing any questions " is it safe to drive".

I only go through London about twice a year and am going next week, the first bombings made me nervous, but yesterday's episode has mademe more determined to use the underground and show the b*stards that we're not scared.

I don't think they'll target theatres, I don't think it's right to say that 'it obviously isn't working' on the underground.  How is it now working?  They crippled the transport system, no-one has said that they were out to kill 1000's, it could just be that they're making their presence known?  I don't know I'm not a terrorist, but I think there are places higher on the list than theatres for bombers.

I would strongly advise against going to the theatre. It is full of arty types talking often in a language we dont' understand. Try the cinema instead.

Seriously, going to the cinema can be dangerous, and you are right to consider this. There is a risk of fire, and people do smoke, so you may die from that. You may also trip in poorly lit stairs. Your risk of dying from all of these is much higher than by some idiot bomber.

Representational bias. News might be full of bombing news, but they NEVER say:

-its still just a small number of guys in a HUGE city

-theatres, however, are still dangerous places due to the fire risk.

One needs to 'correct' one's thinking with the News biases in mind.

Natalie - I'm off to London too next week!  I also felt a bit nervous, but then I figured that I'm probably more likely to get hurt crossing the road going to the train station than dying on the train due to track and signal problems or terrorism!  Like you -- I don't wanna let the b*stards get me down!!

Let's all stand up to these people and carry on our lives as normal.  We CAN NOT and MUST NOT let them win!!!

I took my girlfriend and 13yr old son to London last Friday to a theatre. On the main line train I was threatened and my girlfriend spat at by a pair of disgusting scumbags, we were so upset we used the underground without a thought. Moral...... Anything can happen anywhere, live life dont live fear.

I went to see "We Will Rock You" at the Dominion on Saturday night, totally awesome. �60 tickets, I got them for �30, guess why? A chap at work's wife was afraid to go to London! so I bought them off him, it was short notice but a great show.
