Wikileaks Party Implodes?
24 Answers
A fortnight before the Australian elections, Assange's party has started to disintegrate. Not to worry, though, he lost touch with his party's leaders solely because he was intent on: "Trying to save a young man's life."
Whether this was a reference to Manning or Snowden is a bit unclear, but Assange's heroism shines through, doesn't it? Or could that just be yet another self-aggrandising claim from the total narcissist? Media URL: http://www.theguardian.com/media/2013/aug/22/julian-assange-wikileaks-implosion

Bazile - if you're serious and I can't really believe you are - given that Stockholm is about 900 miles north-east of London and the eastern USA about 3,500 miles west, any aircraft that had to divert to the USA for an emergency landing whilst on a flight from Britain to Sweden would have to be manned by a monumentally incompetent aircrew!

Care to comment on why the US government were given the heads up BEFORE he was detained? I wonder if the UK were looking for a littleguidance from the puppet master?
As I've asked before, is Miranda on a list of Sowden associates supplied by the US government? It would most certainly appear so.

You now say, "The US government were given the heads up BEFORE he was detained." Doesn't that make a nonsense of your earlier-stated belief that THEY leaned on US to carry out the detention? You can't hope to use two such conflicting notions to sustain the same point; namely, that the Americans are the baddies!
There, I've "cared to comment" and - given that I suspect I've been in the "real world" for longer than you have - I scarcely need your invitation to join it.
I'll leave it at that and you to your puppet-master theories, though I shall still be interested to see whether the police DID have some justification for stopping Miranda, as claimed in yesterday's media.

Ok, for the hard of understanding......
The US circulates a list of people associated with Sowden whom they feel deserve close scrutiny. Said journalist is on said list. The UK gets to notice that Miranda is on his way to the UK and decides to inform the US of this and its intention to detain him. Doubtless the US gives it's appraisal of the situation and the potentially damaging information he may well have in his possession.
If not, what reason did the UK have for wanting to detain Miranda as his documents were in order?
Doubtless the US would neither confirm nor deny any such list exists but given their displeasure over Sowden it'd be common knowledge among the relevant intelligence communities that such a list has been compiled.
