Looks like he voted in favour of an ammendment that 'Sets penalties for knowingly gambling over the Internet as a fine of up to $500, 3 months imprisonment, or both.' http://votesmart.org/bill/3580/8741/53270/internet-gambling-amendment#.Uibc4z8pi0Q Whoopsie!

laughing it off really doesn't work, i know our politicians can be very odd, but can't see anyone doing this in the House, falling asleep perhaps...

oh dear, he and Sarah Palin would make a fine double act.
Politicians remind me of my mothers mantra whilst I was growing up

"Do as I say, not do as I do"

Mind you, he might not have been on the internet ;)
\\\\\Mind you, he might not have been on the internet ;)\\\

LOL...could have been texting ;-)

"Hi darlin, bored 2 bloody tears.Wear that tite black dress with zip down the back.Pick u [email protected]"
Playing poker on the internet doesn't mean you're gambling. My OH plays but it's pretend money...
Kerry was trying to convince Senators to support military action on Syria. McCain is already convinced and has publicly given his support.
So not really shocking.
>>>>>My OH plays but it's pretend money...

That's what he tells you !!!!!

of course it's shocking, do you think that whilst Cameron gives a speech on bombing Syria that politicians would be playing games on their i phones, i would hope not. And if they do would stand for censure by the speaker.

the link says it all

US Senator John McCain has been caught playing poker on his iPhone during a key hearing about the possible use of military force in Syria.

He played a few hands under the table during Tuesday's Senate Foreign Relations Committee meeting, which was hearing from the likes of Secretary of State John Kerry and Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel.

Despite being snapped by an eagle-eyed Washington Post photographer, the influential senator - who ran for President in 2008 - laughed off the matter.

He tweeted: "Scandal! Caught playing iPhone game at 3+ hour Senate hearing - worst of all I lost!"
VHG - It's what I know.

Gromit, if he was that was the case then no need to even be there, but if he was then it was to lend support. Doing anything else on a meeting is rude at the very least and I think in this case also shows utter contempt.

I think the American gung-ho attitude over all this is not good at all. I generally support the Americans, but not in this case. Obama could go down in history but for all the wrong reasons.

Just for the record I get very annoyed when people surf the net during meetings at work; and yes I do tell them not to bother attending if they cant be bothered to pay attention.
Kerry is so fecking boring though isn't he.

It could have been worse. He could have been playing 'Angry Birds'.
Yes he is, and he is an arrogant war monger that is trying to make is fame and as such should be watched carefully.

There could have been much wore things he was doing under the desk!
Let he or she who has never posted on AB while at work cast the first stone :-)
he was short of a jack
I'd be very surprised if he was actually gambling real money - but the association of poker with gamling is bad enough.

In the US gambling is much more of an issue than it is here - having said that he does rather cultivate a bit of a Boris-esque mavrick image so I'll reckon he'll ride it out without too much damage.

If it had been Obama that would have been way more damaging
not while attending a board meeting perhaps, ichkeria?

I can't see the speaker censuring MPs for anything similar here, though.
//My OH plays but it's pretend money...//

Think I might try this one on Mrs McM. "I was on this internet site darling, but it was only pretend sex" Stand by A&E.
Yes it would be quite shocking,if whilst Cameron was making his speech, his Mps were playing games on their phones. Two of them went one better and sat in a sound proof room , which they did not know had been sound proofed, and missed the vote because they did not hear the bell. Makes you wonder if they knew why the Mps had been recalled from their holiday???
