It's refreshing to see somebody owning up to what they have done and being prepared to take the full consequences without resorting to appeals and disruption to their human rights. Should more people just 'do the time' for wrongs they have committed and not look for a way to wriggle out of it?

Just hop he isn't someone unconnected looking for infamy.
it would have been refreshing had the man not got behind the wheel of a car whilst drunk, they would have likely caught him anyway. He has owned up, so perhaps that will save some time with the courts, law, but if he does go away for 8 years then good.
I bet he's negotiated a deal in return for the confession.
bloke down here just had a £150 fine for careless driving, which left a teenage biker with only one leg & 6points
the teenage biker got points??
But why a confession on the internet? - surely if the man feels genuine remorse then he should just have gone straight to the police. This way it feels as though he's hoping for a less harsh punishment because he confessed publicly.
It's got very slick production values for a guilt ridden confession. The heart rending background music is a nice touch.

He should have probably just gone down to the police station and told them what he'd done.
yes its very professional looking - perhaps he is an amateur film maker hoping this will gain him some notoriety

i applaud his guts in coming forward like this, many would just be made up to have got away with it.
unlikely he would have got away with it, that's the point.
