Many derogatory remarks against successful British people who are wealthy and Western capitalism have been posted on this site over the years.

Ok, often it is with such zeal it is probably politics of envy, but one think that would interst me is here we have the Utopia of the left; a communist country and yet they seem to be celebrating an ever increasing army of billionaires, so how do all those that disparage Western capitalism explain this?

exactly how many people on the left have ever told you China was a Utopia of the left?
'Many derogatory remarks against successful British people who are wealthy and Western capitalism have been posted on this site over the years.'

have they? I must have missed them.

Commumism. Al people are equal. Some are just a lot more equal than others.
Can't recall 'many derogatory remarks' on here - and I'm not at all sure that 'all who disparage Western capitalism ...' post on here, so you may be waiting a while.
i think you must be reading a different site to me, young. i have also never clocked the posts to which you refer. I think in all honesty, the middle ground (which i by far the most popular in this country) probably seems "loony left" to those who are on the right of it
It's possible to disparage both systems, or at least to recognise that there are flaws in both. Where Communism and, to a lesser extent, Socialism fail is in assuming that everyone is equally motivated and equally able to make money, and also that those people who have the money or who make it will be happy to give it up. Where Capitalism fails is in assuming that such inequality isn't a problem, or perhaps in thinking that some people deserve to be poor. In either system, though, you basically end up with the same results.

In principle I prefer Capitalism because at least it's "honest" about the fact that you will inevitably end up with rich and poor, but you should still try to do something about the gap in wealth and income.

How do we, and most importantly who decides who is left and who is right?
/Many derogatory remarks against... Western capitalism on this site over the years. /

I think that is just your projections ymb

And what makes you think that China is a /utopia of the left/

The Chinese operate a very pragmatic system.

One of those /increasing army ofbillionaires/ you refer to has been a personal friend of mine since he was a lowly electronics engineer here in UK and I can assure you his business success in China has little to do with 'Communism'

right? ///

That's easy, it's all in the word 'RIGHT'.
The bottom line is both Russia and China abandoned Communism and
Marxist Socialism. but they both have kept many of their totalitarian ideals.
A similar pattern emerged in Europe after WWII , Socialist parties sprung up everywhere but everyone of them had to abandon their ideals and have evolved into some form of Capitalism.
My friend's success was based on State support in as much as easy access to cheap premises and cheap labour were facilitated by the authorities in the industrial zones.

Anyone who looked like they could produce goods that would sell in the West were given every assistance.

But the catalyst for it all was individuals like him with an aptitude for deal making, a 'can do' attitude and a lot of hard work
//with an aptitude for deal making, a 'can do' attitude and a lot of hard work //

Not to mention an regieme that aided an endless supply of dirt cheap labour with no welfare protection and an incredibly lax attitude towards environmental pollution.

We wouldn't allow these conditions in Europe however we're perfectly happy to commission goods knowing these are the by products
You think China is a Communist Utopia?

Ha Ha! Your lack of grasp of basic understanding is astounding.
/Not to mention an regieme that aided an endless supply of dirt cheap labour/

Actually I did mention that

/an incredibly lax attitude towards environmental pollution/

my friend grew up hearing stories from his parents and grandparents of war, starvation and cannibalism so creating wealth and employment tends to overshadow a lot of those issues.

Also, China has vast undeveloped areas.

He has invited me to join him in a couple of ventures and shown me pictures of Shanghai taken from his penthouse - I politely declined

His views on Tienanmen Square also surprised me; at the time and since

I'm not being rude, and I swear this is not about you per se.

But your question is a complete mess.

Seriously.

It really has no merit.

I believe you're doing this - you've seen a story which is actually quite interesting, and you have decided to frame a question in such a way to make a political point.

It hasn't worked, because you have forgotten that people on the News section have pretty good memories.

To say that those on the political left here have posted anti-Capitalist remarks or have taken digs at successful people who are wealthy is the very apex of nonsense.

It does not and has never happened.

Fail.

(Sorry...but it's a terrible question...one of the worst this year, and that's up against some pretty tough competition).
Unless the suggestion is that everyone in a country are all behind the official political policy then I don't understand the question. With such a change some will approve, others not.

I don't know how long aog wasted finding those but it's all been a massive failure and rather proves sp1814's point

the three links are not knocking Capitalism per se

they are actually...

2012 Ken Livingstone evading taxes
2009 Corruption in the UK
2008 Sainsbury's pricing policy for turkey

Epic fail LOL
well, no Zeuhl, not really, they're criticising the system - that's capitalism - that allows such things to happen. Stalin would have shot all those involved, including the ones who posted on AB about it.
Wow, 2008, 2009 and 2012. Not sure thay have much relevance, but have you been storing them up for this fleeting moment of ..... glorious ...... triumph ??
Er Zeuhl I think you meant to say avoiding rather than evading?

Would hate to see you getting int hot water
