Hello folks, I'm calling for desperate measures here and asking for any info you may have on jobs in the Manchester area UK that you may be working at already or know about, that offer decent (ish) money (doesn't have to be mega bucks)
I currently work for a company that I have just hit rock bottom at. My role has changed and I actually feel sick going into work now. (I know there are some people out there that don't even have a job, and I appreciate that, and suppose I should count myself lucky in that respect) In my opinion for what has happened to me its turning out to be a nghmare company to work for.Others may disagree.
I'm currently 30 years old (just turned) and male and my overall prospect is to become a Psychologist which I am starting an open university degree in in Feb next year. I wish i had done it sooner but I just wasn't sure earlier on. I have just been flitting around in dead end jobs since I left college really, not knowing what to do. So I don't have to many qualifications to my name.......couple of A levels and 10 GCSEs. (A-D)
Basically though, my current job is now driving me insane and stressing me out to the point where I get about 2 hours sleep a night and I'm losing my appitite. I have asked my bosses if there is a way to go back to what I was doing but they are making life very difficult for me.
What I am looking for is a job that pays around £18,000 a year that one of its top priorities is employee satisfaction. I realise I may be clutching at straws here but like I said its desperate measures and I have nothing to lose. I am open to every opportunity (sensible)
So if anybody knows of anywhere that they have good experience of working or know somebody else that does/has then please let me know so i can get applying.
Apologies for the rant.
Thanks

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If you're interested in Psychology, how about a hospital, Care Home or hospice? They would be very rewarding if you're interested in people and the amount of money you want isn't a lot for a full time job. From doing the O.U Psychology courses myself, your work could be invaluable for your Case Studies that you'll do.
Booby, look on NHSjobs - that's where all local NHS healthcare jobs will be advertised, and there is nothing like going in at the bottom and working your way up. https:/ /www.jo bs.nhs. uk/ Your local NHS Trusts would be a really good place to start - put in "any jobs" and salary and your salary requirement, and see what comes up, if there is nothing immediate then stretch your search a bit. I hope this helps.
If your present job is driving you up the wall then I would suggest that you get out now before you go crazy and do any job readily available which will support you and give you the time to concentrate and study with O.U.
Shelf stacking with any supermarket (or similar) comes to mind and I assume they will be paying basis rate + possible overtime??
Just an alternative thought!
