Where do you stand on the subject of weather presenter Sian Lloyd being uninvited from the Blair wedding yesterday, as documented in the Mail? Strikes me she has leaked the story herself, and if that's the case I'm not surprised she wasn't welcome. Surely it's up to the couple getting married who gets invited, and if they don't want her there....

I don't understand what you mean. She leaked the story herself? She must have been uninvited before the story leaked - otherwise there would have been no story.

I'm guessing, but perhaps her step-daughter really doesn't like her - but even so, at a society wedding I would expect protocol to be observed. Extraordinary.

I have always thought she is a horrible woman. Odd features and smug.
When parents remarry, it is often the case that offspring do not like the new partner. If this girl is getting married, she wants her mum and dad there. She does not want some self centred loon there just be ause her dad married it.
Bleating in the newspapers is pathetic. Blaming her opposition to the Iraq war for the uninvite is preposterous.

Blabbing to the press wasn't the reason she was uninvited. If she hadn't been uninvited in the first place, there would have been nothing to say to the press. The question is 'why was she uninvited?' - and we don't know the answer to that.

Odd story.

Apparently Ms Lloyd was originally invited to the wedding, and then had her invitation revoked.

I would have thought that the first thing any newspaper would have done, when reporting such a story is to find out why.

If she hadn't been invited in the first place, one could make a guess as to why - perhaps the bride's mother still harbours ill-feeling...

But to be invited and have the invitation rescinded shortly before the wedding suggests something else.

Something the Daily Mail has decided doesn't need publicising.

Odd.

Incidentally, sort the responses into 'best rated' and have a look at some of the comments.

I don't read the Daily Mail or other papers of the same type, so I am unsure what this is all about. Why wasn't she invited ?

Mikey, she was invited - then she was uninvited - but she doesn't know why and neither do we.

Okay, okay...there's very little chance that we're going to find out, so I will make up a reason.

Sian was originally invited, and the uninvited when the bride discovered that Ms Lloyd planned to wear a white dress, and then shout out weather forecasts at the top of her voice, whilst the couple were making their vows.

I think it was a bad move to send her an invitation and then retract it. She has every right to feel offended and it has made this into a story which does not reflect well on the hosts.

I agree Grasscarp. The bride's mother should have paid more attention to her guest list before issuing the invitations. Bad form.

I am blowed if I can remember where I read this but after the invitations were issued there was a family meal out at which Sian Lloyd and the bride's mother were present. Sian Lloyd made several snide remarks about the bride's mother and was then uninvited.
