ymg...free health care ? Don't we have that already ? Introduced by the Labour Government, under Attlee, in 1948 ? Opposed by the Tories at the time ?
To answer the spirit of your question, Labour are doing what the Labour Party should be doing...acting as the opposition party.
The utilities were privatised under the Tories and prices have been rising steeply ever since. I watched Angela Knight being interviewed on CH4 last night. The same Angela Knight that used to pop up on a regular basis, defending the Banks whenever they were caught with their hands in the till. She was interviewed as well by Eddie Mair on PM as well and she consistently squirmed under pressure, but also consistently declined to explain why the energy companies swindled everybody in the country, by not reducing their charges when wholesale energy cost went down a few years ago. In successive years they have announced huge % price rises, followed very shortly afterwards by a similar or in some cases, exactly the same % rise in profits. You question if the public is stupid ? ....well now that the energy companies have been found out, its clearly them that are stupid, in thinking that they could get away such sharp practise for ever and ever.
Labour have now promised that they will repeal the Bedroom Tax legislation and ensure that the energy companies don't make excessive profits by overcharging us. Not an unreasonable road to take...whats not to like ?
It soften said, quite erroneously, mostly by people too stupid and/or lazy to get off their arses and vote, that there isn't really any difference between Labour and the Tories. Well, there now appears to be a huge gap opening up between them. You pay your money and you make your choices !
