I was in Machynlleth a few weeks ago and ribbons were tied everywhere around the town - and such a quiet town too. Driving past the Bryn y Gog estate was a bit surreal but kids were playing in the streets - parents stood in doorways keeping an eye on them. Coincidentally, Ratter15 lives close by.
April Jones' funeral reflects the wishes of her grieving parents Paul and Coral, who had wondered for months whether it would even be possible as their daughter's body was never found apart from fragments of bone.
I imagine they felt the need to share the funeral with everyone on tv, as poor little April's disappearance caused a stir amongst so many people, everyone felt the emotions they were feeling at the time of their daughter going missing, everyone has been on this sad journey with them, that they felt the need to continue sharing their grief with so many people who feel their lost who unfortunately could not be there with them. A sad sad day indeed.
May she R.I.P.
i don't really understand why people have coffins at funerals when there is no body (sorry i don't mean to upset anyone) - similar to when people have been blown up etc
we were in Machynlleth when the new broke that remains had been found, the whole town was in tears, every house and lamp post had a pink ribbon tied to it, so tragic.
