I have just heard this poor man being interviewed on the Today program. He can't even bury his family because of on-going Police investigations.

I'm not sure that I could be so calm in the same situation.

dreadful case, the police have to be as thorough as possible to ascertain the cause of death, i am aware it was a fire, however perhaps there are details which they cannot release as yet, how the fire was set, not sure i would be so forgiving of God..
Very sad ...what a terrible thing to do.
// Kemo Porter, 18, of Browning Street, Leicester, has been charged with four counts of murder and is due to appear at Leicester Crown Court at a later date. //
And a further 7 arrests.

Agreed, this poor man Has been Very dignified.
There can often be a delay if the Police cannot be sure of the cause of death, especially if the circumstances are considered suspicious. But none of us would be happy if they did not get all the evidence possible if cremated that's it.

As you say, must be difficult to cope and it prolongs the agony.
I'm amazed that someone can take so much comfort from their faith, considering the circumstances. Not a flicker of anger on his faith.
It must be equally upsetting for this man, because his faith says that persons have to be buried as soon as possible after death.

Are you trying to say that the setting fire to this house was a revenge attack for the murder of that Black lad, Antoin Akpom.?

/// Abdul Hakim (19), of Wood Hill, has been charged with his murder. ///

They only buried poor April Jones yesterday (what was left of her).

And she died nearly a year ago.

Sometimes bodies as part of an on going criminal investigation can remain unburied for a long time.
AOG

Gromit isn't implying that, but you are inferring it.
It's been a thought-provoking day on the radio this morning. Woman's Hour had an interview with a woman in Ireland who'd been raped for 10 years by her father - when it came to court, the judge let him off because he is now 73. There was an outcry and he's now in jail. The woman was describing how her treatment at his hands had affected her whole life.
A further four people have now been charged with murder, making 5 in all.

AOG, the police said no one at the address of the fire was connected to the murder the previous week. Unless the starting of the fire there was a mistake (they got the wrong house), it would seem the two incidents are unconnected. The police said that early in the investigation.

I know that rather spoils earlier threads that were gleefully making the connection.
There might still be a connection, Gromit, but I find it hard to believe anybody was/is/will be 'gleeful' about it.
hardly gleeful..
Dreadful situation. It also highlights just how difficult policing can get.
