You don't get more Elder Statesman than Heseltine, and he thinks UKIP are
racist. Will Dave dare to deal with them now ?

Sensible Tories like Mr Heseltine who don't have anything to lose are the ones who are speaking the truth. The rest of the Tory party seems largely divided between those who agree with him but are afraid to say so, and those who actually would probably join the UKIP ranks if it didn't mean political suicide. They prefer to goad the Tory partyrightwards from...

mikey....no need to deal with UKIP other than to say to the electorate that a vote for UKIP will let in Milliband.

Then it is up to the voters of the UK.

Good afternoon Sqad !

You are right of course but I don't think that it is going to stop a few Tory MP's from doing a deal behind closed doors with UKIP. Its Tory MPs that have the most to lose from UKIP, as some of them face the possibility of reducing their majority, and even, maybe losing their seats in 2015.

Anyway, I suppose Heseltine ( a Swansea boy by the way ! ) is yesterdays man, so maybe his opinion doesn't count for too much these days. Its been a long time since anybody called him Tarzan !
Racist? WOW!!!!!!!

Well that should truly put an end to them?

I wouldn't take any notice of one of Thatchers old cronies.
/// Its been a long time since anybody called him Tarzan ///

No that is not very PC these days, seeing Tarzan's attitude towards the natives of Africa.
Isn't it an indication of how worried the Conservatives are that they use the racist card against UKIP with no basis whatsoever. I do not support UKIP by the way.
Tarzan loved the natives of Africa, lived among them and wrestled lions with his bare hands. Would that the Tories had a bit of experience doing the same thing instead of just working in PR.

Heseltine???

I thought it was Francis Maude?

Sqad makes a good point...right wing Conservative voters need to be very careful in how they vote come the next General Election, because more Tories are defecting to UKIP than traditional Labour voters...
So if an old Tory says something we all have to accept it ?

Maybe one should say a vote for someone other than UKIP will let in Cameron, and maybe Clegg ?

Where is Guido Fawkes when you need him ?
Well, I guess if Michael Heseltine says something, it MUST be true...

:/

Remember the Westland helicopter thing !.
By Jove, UKIP racist ? They are no more racist than I or AOG are. They have fielded two "foreigners" out of 30,000 members and that's good enough for me. (Did anyone say choc-ice? Or Uncle Tom? Well, that just shows racist they are !)
are you and aog AB's token foreigners, FredPuli? I had assumed you both got in here by virtue of your good looks and articulacy.
I can only speak for myself, jno. Yes, as to good looks and articulacy, no as to being a being a token foreigner unless having an Irish mother counts. But she was born in 1913, when Ireland was still seen as British owned, so it shouldn't.
So why are they racist?.
OL, the perception of some is that the typical member thinks "Johnny Foreigner is an odd cove and we don't want the likes of him over here" but that's dressed up as 'immigration policy'
Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that was why people were defecting from the other parties to vote for Ukip, precisely to stop Johnny Foreigner coming here in droves, you know like turning this country into a kasbah and a Romany campsite.
Correct, gran, but the perception is that that logical complaint hides a general dislike of any 'foreigner' here or not, that it is xenophobia. This is reinforced by Mr Bloom talking casually of Bongo Bongo land; only a man who looks down on foreigners would think to use such words. He would complain about them in terms that didn't suggest that fundamental attitude.
^ Edit:"he would otherwise.." not "he would" ^
Mr Bloom is of another age, old school and too old to bow to pressure from the EU PC. considering his MEP status it is surprising how he has remained in office. However he is not the only one who disregards the 'rules' there are lots of men on the street who feel the same way.
