The referees should walk over and signal/ask them to stop. If they don't or do it again then the match should be stopped and points awarded to the other team.

Small fines do no good, the fans need to be hurt. Their team loosing because of their actions would do that.

Perhaps the player should be adult enough to shrug it off, and perhaps return their chants by aping (pardon the pun) the actions of a monkey along with a big smile on his face, they would soon get fed up, if they knew that he couldn't care less, with their childish antics.

I know its racial abuse and wrong, and I know its against some countries Laws , but why not just ignore it? Making an issue of it brings it to the public attention and for what ? What's been said has been said and no one will get reprimanded for it, so a private apology from the Club should have sufficed.

anotheroldgit, I agree entirely with your comment. If it had been me that is what I'd have done , made like a monkey and treated it as a joke. That way he would have proved how stupid the crowd was and he was man enough to rise above it. AOG for best answer!
