How long before there's a Corner Shop on Mars?

very nice, much better than wasting money on aircraft carriers.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Well it is bonfire night.

Zacs,
Would April 1st have been better timing after all the Aid we've
given them!
£45.5m

Blimey how did they do it for that?

That works out at about 300 yards of HS2

Apparently it allows them to get to Mars 20 minutes quicker as well, so it's money well spent.
I bet when they communicate with it they get a message saying "Thankyou for calling Mangalyaan. You are currently [6th] in the queue. Please hold as your call is really important to us".
Apparently it's not about the time it takes to get to Mars

- it's all about increased capacity

Why we are not thinking of helping to provide aircraft carriers for them also out of the £200m we already give them.

Also marvellous, how much some councils spend on Diwalii celebrations when some are scrapping their Guy Fawkes celebrations due to lack of cash.

^ great steve

Them Wallasey people are so stuck-up!
We have given a bit of aid to build a few classrooms. The US have given $18billion for defence. I'm guessing the US taxpayer has paid for this rocket.
// We have given a bit of aid to build a few classrooms //

According to the article British aid was worth 200Million. Were these classrooms made with solid gold bricks?

Whatever, they did refer to it as 'peanuts' not long ago, so I guess they won't miss it when it's phased out in 2015.

Is there anything more daft and offensive about a country like India wasting billions of dollars sending a rocket to the moon, instead of dealing with the appalling poverty in its own country ? I heard Mark Tully live on the Beeb this afternoon, making a pathetic attempt at defending this madness.
