I was looking for the Red Cross site to donate a amount to the Philippines, when the site opened they come up with, £ 25>>£50>>£75, what a bloody cheek when money is tight & you are donating, what's your view?

You forgot to mention that there is also a box labelled "other" where you can specify how much you wish to give.
You can specify an amount to though, so no it's not a cheek
It also offers....Other.....TWR.
All donation sites give suggested amounts....then other, and you fill in as you wish.

I did not see this box otherwise I would not be posting this post, my donation went else where.
That counts me out then. I agree it is a cheek .
Ahhhh, where's your 2p off now now instead TWR?

I kid!!! Honest x
That's fine, TWR...if it was to one of the DEC charities it will be used quickly and efficiently....☺
When the red mist descends it can obscure your vision....

I hope when you say 'elsewhere' it was still a charity offering disaster relief to the Philippines.
The box is right there, under the £40 option. (the figures are different to those in your OP?) http://www.redcross.org.uk/Donate-Now/Make-a-single-donation/Typhoon-Haiyan-Appeal

It's common for all the charities I donate to - they usually say if you donate a certain amount, that covers x activity.
As with all charitable donations, each of us has a choice of amount and which cause.
you could have donated direct to Red Cross Philippines http://www.redcross.org.ph/donate
Leah....there are suggestions to make donating quick, not to be cheeky, but there is always a box to put in the exact amount you wish to donate.

We at Save the Children have been given £2 coins.....that's great because every donation for this cause matters and will help....☺
I rang a donate £3 a month charity (can't remember which one) The woman said how much would you like to donate I said the TV advert said £3 a month. Is that all she replied. I said sorry I've changed my mind.

I did Eccles, it was only a Tenner, that niggled me.
Glad you found your way round it and sorted it.
It is not 'only a tenner', it is £10 that will make a difference to someone who has lost everything.
A tenner, TWR? Then you have given a family clean drinking water for almost a month....that's not bad at all, is it?....☺
As I said elsewhere, for a predominantly Catholic country I'm sure the RC church could make a small donation from their supposed $50 billion (rough guesstimate) fortune, one that would dwarf the £10 million pledged by this government.
