No, you have to be over 80 to receive £300.

thanks yorky but just googled it there and it said millions of over 70s received an extra £100 one-off payment on top of the winter fuel allowance. It is just my sister has received this and she is afraid she is not entitled to it and may make enquiries about it. Thanks
Sorry Conne, can only see over the age 80. Was just going to post exactly the same as Eccles. Age UK says the same too.
Are you referring to a deal offered by a specific supplier-(EDF?) rather than a government payment. Looking at the link from Eccles Cake I don't see how an extra £100 could be paid.
My mum is over 70 but under 80 and has definitely only received £200. Can you post a link to where it says people are getting an extra £100?
The only references I can see on Google to over 70s getting an extra £100 all relate to 2004.
Can we have a link, please, Connemara?
^unless you mean someone who is an eligible partner of someone who receives the £200

sorry all - was indeed looking at something dated 2005 - but thanks for your help. will let the sister know.
Factor, Two eligible people in the same house only receive £100 each. The £200 is per household.

thanks psybbo - Eccles gave me that link too. Have spoken to sister and she said she will make enquiries tomorrow. thanks again.
I am still a bit confused here. I have looked at this link ::

https://www.gov.uk/winter-fuel-payment/what-youll-get

Its says that only people who were born on or after 05/01/1952 will get the payment.

I was born on 04/06/1953 and was 60 this year. The link seems to say that I will never get the payment, as I can never be born ( again) in 1952 ! I always thought that this payment was made to people of state retirement age, or have I read this link wrong ?
it says on or before
on or before surely, mikey?
The eligibilty date moves on a year every year. It usually starts on the Monday of the third week in September of the current year. You will receive it next year.
Sorry that was an answer to Mickey.

Mikey, from your link!

///Born on or before 5 January 1952///
Yes sorry ...my typo..it is before, but my question still stands, I was born in 1953, so will I ever get this payment or not ?
